Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday – This day marks Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. As He enters the city He is surrounded by cheering, worshipful crowds of people, many of whom were laying down leafy branches or even their garments so that the feet of the donkey He rode would not touch the ground. High respect for a King’s arrival, right?

For the rest of the story I urge you to read Matthew Chapters 21 – 28 and discover just how fickle mankind can be and how even those closest to Christ failed Him in His darkest hour. Discover how He overcame all the plotting, the betrayal and the rejection by those who had so recently hailed Him as King.

His “trial”, His death on the cross, His burial in a sealed tomb, His resurrection; all this for a sinful world, a world deserving of His condemnation and yet His grace, His mercy, His love was, and is, greater than all the sins of man. What a contrast between the brutal, sinful nature of man and the all encompassing, steadfast love of God!

Christian churches throughout the world will have many services throughout this week honoring Christ and giving thanks for His great sacrifice. Join with us as we celebrate the gift of eternal life.
